IT Support for Dental Practices
Practice software, imaging and patient records that work when the first patient sits down
Digitek IT looks after the computers, network, backups and security for dental practices, including the server and surgery computers your practice software and imaging run on.
When a surgery computer will not open an X-ray or reception cannot load the appointment book, your team calls one number, and we respond within the times set out in your agreement, from 1 hour for critical problems.

IT Support for Dentists
IT support that works around your appointment book
When a computer stops working in a dental practice, appointments are affected straight away. Reception cannot see the day’s bookings, and a surgery cannot open charts or X-rays until the system is back.
Digitek looks after the whole setup, from the server and surgery computers to email and backups. When a problem sits with your practice software, we work with the software provider so your practice manager is not stuck in the middle.
Dental IT support is worth a look if
- Your practice software or imaging slows down or drops out during clinic hours
- Nobody is sure when the server was last backed up, or whether the backup would work
- Staff share logins on reception and surgery computers
- You are adding a surgery or opening a second location
- Your IT provider and your software provider keep pointing at each other
Reception, surgeries and the server should work as one system, so your team can focus on patients rather than computers.
What's Included
What dental IT support includes
Your setup is built around the number of surgeries, the practice software you use and how your team works. These are the services dental practices most often need.
Practice software support
We look after the server and computers your practice management software runs on, and work with the software provider when a problem sits on their side.
Surgery computers
The computer in each surgery is set up, updated and maintained, so it is ready to use when the patient is in the chair.
Patient data security
We put multi-factor authentication, email filtering, endpoint protection and staff phishing training in place to protect patient records.
Backup and recovery
Your practice database and imaging files are backed up regularly and the backups are checked, so a failed server does not mean lost patient records.
Network and Wi-Fi
A reliable network across reception and every surgery, with patient Wi-Fi kept separate from your practice systems.
Email and Microsoft 365
Every staff member gets their own secured account, so patient correspondence is not sitting in a shared inbox with a shared password.
Patient Privacy
Patient records and the Privacy Act
The Privacy Act covers organisations that provide a health service and hold health information, even small businesses. That includes dental practices of every size.
We do not give legal advice, but we can put the IT protections in place and explain them in plain English, so you can answer questions about how patient records are stored and who can see them.
What we put in place
- Individual logins for every staff member
- Access to patient records set by role
- Multi-factor authentication on email and remote access
- Encrypted laptops and devices
- Regular, checked backups of patient data
- Access removed on the day someone leaves

This is their second company we are using and extremely professional. Helped me setup our microsoft outlook (absolute nightmare when we were trying to do it ourselves) but they saved the day. They gave me an upfront number which I love vs guessing how much it'll be right at the endPosted on Google![]()

I was experiencing issues with email deliverability and wasn’t sure what was causing it. I reached out to Jordan, and with just one quick look, he pinpointed the problem, my DMARC records weren’t set up correctly. He offered a complimentary call, explained everything clearly, and helped me get it sorted straight away. Super responsive, incredibly knowledgeable, and genuinely helpful, I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. I’ll definitely be referring others to him in future!Posted on Google![]()

Jim has helped me a number of times with my website safety and functionality. Not only that, but he has helped me research laptop and monitors for me when I was overwhelmed with the choices and was able to explain to me the differences. Will be using Jim at digitek for many years to come.
Questions
Dental IT support: common questions
How much does IT support cost for a dental practice?
IT support is priced per user, per month, based on the number of staff and computers you need supported and the security your practice needs. A one-off setup cost may apply when we first take over your server and surgery computers, and we confirm it with you up front. You get a clear price in writing before any work starts.
Can you support our practice software?
We look after the server, computers and network that your practice software runs on, and we work with your software provider when a problem sits on their side. Tell us which system you use when we first talk.
What happens if our server goes down during clinic hours?
A problem that stops your practice working is treated as critical, and we respond within 1 hour during business hours. Because your backups are checked regularly, we can restore from a recent copy if the server cannot be fixed quickly.
Does the Privacy Act apply to our dental practice?
Yes. The Privacy Act covers organisations that provide a health service and hold health information, even small businesses, and that includes dental practices. We do not give legal advice, but we can put the IT protections in place and explain them so you can show how patient records are protected.
Can you set up a new surgery or a second location?
Yes. We can set up the computers, network, accounts and backups for a new surgery or location and connect it to your existing practice systems.
Do we need to replace our server?
Not always. We look at your current setup first and tell you what needs replacing, what can stay, and whether moving some systems to the cloud makes sense for the practice software you use.
How quickly do you respond when something goes wrong?
Response times are set out in your agreement. We respond to critical problems within 1 hour, high priority problems within 2 hours, medium within 4 hours and low within 8 hours, during business hours of 8:30am to 5pm, Monday to Friday.
Do you support dental practices outside Sydney?
Yes. We are based in Western Sydney and support dental practices in other cities remotely, which is how most day-to-day problems are fixed anyway.
Ready for IT that keeps up with your appointment book?
Tell us about your surgeries, your practice software and what keeps going wrong. We will give you a clear monthly price, and there is no lock-in contract.
