Digitek IT looks after the computers, network, backups and security for general practices and specialist clinics, from the reception desk to every consult room.

Medical IT Support
IT support that keeps your consult rooms running
A medical practice runs to a tight appointment schedule. When the clinical software is slow or a consult room computer will not start, the delay carries through every appointment that follows.
Digitek looks after the whole setup, from the server and consult room computers to email, remote access and backups. When a problem sits with your clinical software, we work with the software provider so your practice manager is not stuck in the middle.
Medical IT support is worth a look if
- Your clinical software slows down or drops out during sessions
- Doctors share logins or leave consult room computers signed in
- Telehealth and working from home rely on personal laptops
- Nobody is sure whether your backups would restore patient records
- You are adding consult rooms, new doctors or a second location
Every doctor, nurse and receptionist should reach the right patient record quickly, and only the people who need it should be able to see it.
What's Included
What medical IT support includes
Your setup is built around the number of doctors and consult rooms, the clinical software you use and whether your team works across more than one location. These are the services medical practices most often need.
Clinical software support
We look after the server or cloud setup and the computers your clinical software runs on, and work with the software provider when a problem sits on their side.
Consult room computers
Every consult and treatment room computer is set up, updated and maintained, so it is ready when the next patient walks in.
Telehealth and remote access
Doctors can run telehealth consults and reach patient records from home or another clinic through secure remote access, without patient data sitting on personal devices.
Patient data security
Encryption, multi-factor authentication, email filtering and staff phishing training protect patient records from ransomware and stolen passwords.
Backup and disaster recovery
Patient records are backed up offsite and the backups are tested, so a failed server or a ransomware attack does not mean lost records.
Network, Wi-Fi and devices
A reliable network across the practice, with patient Wi-Fi kept separate and your printers, scanners and tablets managed alongside your computers.
Patient Privacy
Health information, privacy law and data breaches
The Privacy Act covers every organisation that provides a health service and holds health information, so it applies to medical practices of every size. Under the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme, a breach that is likely to cause serious harm must be reported to the OAIC and to the patients affected.
Practices in New South Wales also have obligations under the Health Records and Information Privacy Act, and some other states have their own health records laws.
We do not give legal advice, but we can put the IT protections in place and explain them in plain English, so you can show how patient records are stored and who can see them.
What we put in place
- Individual logins for every doctor and staff member
- Access to patient records set by role
- Multi-factor authentication on email and remote access
- Encrypted laptops and devices
- Offsite backups of patient data, tested regularly
- Access removed on the day someone leaves
Why Digitek
Why medical practices choose Digitek
A computer problem early in a session puts every appointment after it behind. Every agreement sets out how quickly we respond, based on how serious the problem is.
We deal with your software provider
When a problem sits with your clinical software, we contact the provider and work it through, so your practice manager does not have to.
Changes scheduled outside consulting hours
Updates and larger changes are scheduled outside consulting hours where possible, so doctors are not interrupted mid-session.
One team for the whole practice
Reception, consult rooms, remote access and email are looked after by the same people, so problems are not passed between providers.
Price agreed up front, no lock-in
We agree the monthly price and what it covers before any work starts, and agreements are month to month with 30 days notice.

This is their second company we are using and extremely professional. Helped me setup our microsoft outlook (absolute nightmare when we were trying to do it ourselves) but they saved the day. They gave me an upfront number which I love vs guessing how much it'll be right at the endPosted on Google![]()

I was experiencing issues with email deliverability and wasn’t sure what was causing it. I reached out to Jordan, and with just one quick look, he pinpointed the problem, my DMARC records weren’t set up correctly. He offered a complimentary call, explained everything clearly, and helped me get it sorted straight away. Super responsive, incredibly knowledgeable, and genuinely helpful, I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. I’ll definitely be referring others to him in future!Posted on Google![]()

Questions
Medical IT support: common questions
How much does IT support cost for a medical practice?
IT support is priced per user, per month, based on the number of doctors and staff you need supported and the security your practice needs. A one-off setup cost may apply when we first take over your server and consult room computers, and we confirm it with you up front. You get a clear price in writing before any work starts.
Can you support our clinical software?
We look after the server, computers and network that your clinical software runs on, and we work with your software provider when a problem sits on their side. Tell us which system you use when we first talk.
Can our doctors run telehealth or work from home securely?
Yes. We set up secure remote access with multi-factor authentication, so doctors can run telehealth consults and reach patient records from home or another clinic without storing patient data on personal devices.
Does the Privacy Act apply to our medical practice?
Yes. The Privacy Act covers organisations that provide a health service and hold health information, even small businesses. Practices in New South Wales also have obligations under the Health Records and Information Privacy Act. We do not give legal advice, but we can put the IT protections in place and explain them so you can show how patient records are protected.
What should we do if patient data is exposed?
Call us straight away so we can help you work out what happened and what was accessed. Under the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme, a breach likely to cause serious harm must be reported to the OAIC and the patients affected, and we can give you the technical details you need for that report.
What happens if our server goes down during a session?
A problem that stops your practice working is treated as critical, and we respond within 1 hour during business hours. Because your backups are tested regularly, we can restore from a recent copy if the server cannot be fixed quickly.
How quickly do you respond when something goes wrong?
Response times are set out in your agreement. We respond to critical problems within 1 hour, high priority problems within 2 hours, medium within 4 hours and low within 8 hours, during business hours of 8:30am to 5pm, Monday to Friday.
Do you support medical practices outside Sydney?
Yes. We are based in Western Sydney and support medical practices in other cities remotely, which is how most day-to-day problems are fixed anyway.
Ready for IT your doctors can rely on every session?
Tell us about your consult rooms, your clinical software and what keeps going wrong. We will give you a clear monthly price, and there is no lock-in contract.
