Digitek IT provides managed IT support and cyber security for law firms, from Microsoft 365 and email security to the laptops, phones and backups your practice relies on.

Some of the businesses we work with

Law Firm IT Support
IT support for law firms that handle confidential client matters
Your firm holds privileged documents, identity records and, for many practices, client money in trust. Your lawyers need fast access to all of it from the office, from home and from court.
Digitek looks after the setup behind your practice, from Microsoft 365 and email security to the laptops and phones your team uses every day, on both Windows and Apple.
Law firm IT support is worth a look if
- Lawyers keep client files on their own laptops or USB drives
- Changed settlement or bank details are confirmed by email only
- Nobody is sure who still has access after a lawyer or clerk leaves
- Passwords are shared between staff or kept in a spreadsheet
- Your backups have never been tested with a real restore
Your lawyers should be able to reach client files wherever they work, and those files should stay protected from everyone else.
Trust Account Security
IT that supports the Law Society's trust account expectations
In June 2026, the Law Society of NSW set out the baseline cyber security controls it expects from practices that manage trust money.
Most of these are everyday IT controls, such as multi-factor authentication, a separate login for each staff member, restricted access to trust money and backups that are tested.
We put these controls in place and explain each one in plain English. Some of the expectations are about your own procedures, such as phoning a client to confirm changed settlement details, so we work through those with your practice manager as well.
What we put in place
- Multi-factor authentication on email and Microsoft 365
- A separate login for every staff member, with 1Password for shared passwords
- Access to client files and accounts set by role and reviewed when staff leave
- Security updates applied automatically to every device
- A call-back check before any change to settlement or bank details
- Backups that are tested and stored offsite
What's Included
What IT support for law firms includes
Your setup is built around the number of lawyers and support staff, where they work and the devices they prefer. These are the services law firms most often need.
Microsoft 365 and email
Email, Teams, OneDrive and SharePoint are set up for every lawyer and staff member, so matter files are kept in one place instead of on personal laptops.
Email and cyber security
Email filtering, multi-factor authentication, staff training and phishing simulations help your team spot fake invoices and changed bank detail emails.
Laptops and phones
Devices are managed with security policies on both Windows and Apple, so a laptop or phone left behind can be locked or wiped.
Cloud PCs for remote staff
Legal assistants and offshore staff work on a secure Windows desktop in Australian data centres, so client files stay off their own computers.
New starters and leavers
New lawyers get their accounts, email and a 1Password vault set up with multi-factor authentication, and access is removed on the day someone leaves.
Backup and recovery
Your Microsoft 365 email and files are backed up separately, along with your servers and shared files, and restores are tested.

This is their second company we are using and extremely professional. Helped me setup our microsoft outlook (absolute nightmare when we were trying to do it ourselves) but they saved the day. They gave me an upfront number which I love vs guessing how much it'll be right at the endPosted on Google![]()

I was experiencing issues with email deliverability and wasn’t sure what was causing it. I reached out to Jordan, and with just one quick look, he pinpointed the problem, my DMARC records weren’t set up correctly. He offered a complimentary call, explained everything clearly, and helped me get it sorted straight away. Super responsive, incredibly knowledgeable, and genuinely helpful, I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. I’ll definitely be referring others to him in future!Posted on Google![]()

Questions
IT support for law firms: common questions
How much does IT support cost for a law firm?
It depends on how many lawyers and staff you have, the devices they use and what you need looked after. We review your setup first and agree a price with you before any work starts, so there are no surprise invoices.
Can you help us meet the Law Society's trust account cyber security expectations?
Yes. We put the IT controls in place, such as multi-factor authentication, a separate login for each staff member, access set by role, automatic security updates and tested backups. Some expectations are about your own procedures, such as phoning a client to confirm changed settlement details, so we work through those with your practice manager.
How do you protect our firm from payment redirection fraud?
We set up email filtering and multi-factor authentication, and train your team to recognise fake payment emails. No technology stops every scam, so we also help you put a call-back check in place before any change to settlement or bank details.
Can our lawyers work securely from home or court?
Yes. We set up secure access to your files and email, and manage laptops and phones so a lost device can be locked or wiped. Matter files stay in Microsoft 365 rather than on personal devices.
Can you support legal assistants who work offshore?
Yes. Cloud PCs give remote and offshore staff a secure Windows desktop in Australian data centres. Copy and paste, USB drives and websites can be restricted, so client files stay inside your firm’s systems.
What happens to a lawyer's email and files when they leave?
We remove their access on the day they leave and keep their mailbox and files with your firm, so client correspondence and matter history are not lost.
What should we do if our firm has a data breach?
Call us straight away on 02 4504 8643. We help you secure the affected accounts, work out what was accessed, restore data where needed and explain what needs to happen next.
How quickly do you respond when something goes wrong?
Response times are set out in your agreement. We respond to critical problems within 1 hour, high priority problems within 2 hours, medium within 4 hours and low within 8 hours, during business hours of 8:30am to 5pm, Monday to Friday.
Do you support law firms outside Sydney?
Yes. We provide on-site support around Penrith, Parramatta and Norwest, and support law firms in Melbourne, Newcastle and other cities remotely.
