Manufacturing IT Support
IT services for manufacturing businesses
In a manufacturing business, the office, the floor and dispatch all rely on the same systems. Orders arrive by email, jobs and stock are tracked in your business software, and drawings and paperwork move between people all day.
Digitek looks after the setup behind all of it, from the computers and network to your server, Microsoft 365, backups and security, on both Windows and Apple.
Manufacturing IT support is worth a look if
- Files move between the office and the floor on USB sticks
- Staff share email accounts or log in with the same password
- Computers are on different versions of Windows and nobody manages them
- Your job or stock system runs on an ageing server
- IT is looked after by someone in the business alongside their main job
Your team should be able to take an order, make it and send it out without the computers getting in the way.

How Kelso Doors moved to a managed setup
Kelso Doors is a manufacturing client of Digitek. This is how their setup changed once we took over their IT.
Before Digitek
- A mix of Windows 10 and Windows 11 Home computers, none of them managed
- Shared email accounts across staff
- Limited communication systems
- Files moved between people on USB sticks
After the change
- Every machine upgraded to Windows 11 Pro and brought under management
- An individual, secured account for every staff member
- Communication moved into Microsoft Teams
- Documents centralised for easier and safer collaboration
"
Jim and the team made the process easy and collaborative. We were extremely happy with the service.

What's Included
What IT support for manufacturers includes
Your setup is built around the size of your team, how your site runs and the systems you rely on. These are the services manufacturing businesses most often need.
Office and shop-floor computers
Every computer is brought under management and kept up to date, so your machines are set up the same way and can be supported remotely.
Your business software
Whichever job, stock or ERP system you run, we look after the server and computers it runs on, keep it backed up and work with your software provider when it needs their help.
Microsoft 365 and Teams
Each staff member gets their own secured account, and Teams gives the office, floor and dispatch one place for chat, calls and shared documents.
Network and Wi-Fi
Your network, firewall and Wi-Fi are set up and monitored, so computers and devices stay connected across the office, factory and warehouse.
Email and cyber security
Email filtering, multi-factor authentication, staff training and phishing simulations help your team spot fake supplier invoices and changed bank detail emails.
Backup and recovery
Your servers, shared files and business systems are backed up offsite along with Microsoft 365, and restores are tested so you know you can get back up and running.

This is their second company we are using and extremely professional. Helped me setup our microsoft outlook (absolute nightmare when we were trying to do it ourselves) but they saved the day. They gave me an upfront number which I love vs guessing how much it'll be right at the endPosted on Google![]()

I was experiencing issues with email deliverability and wasn’t sure what was causing it. I reached out to Jordan, and with just one quick look, he pinpointed the problem, my DMARC records weren’t set up correctly. He offered a complimentary call, explained everything clearly, and helped me get it sorted straight away. Super responsive, incredibly knowledgeable, and genuinely helpful, I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. I’ll definitely be referring others to him in future!Posted on Google![]()

Jim has helped me a number of times with my website safety and functionality. Not only that, but he has helped me research laptop and monitors for me when I was overwhelmed with the choices and was able to explain to me the differences. Will be using Jim at digitek for many years to come.
Questions
IT support for manufacturing: common questions
How much does IT support cost for a manufacturing business?
It depends on how many staff and computers you have, the systems you run and what you need looked after. We review your setup first and agree a price with you before any work starts, so there are no surprise invoices.
Can you support our ERP or job management system?
Yes. Whichever system you use, we look after the server and computers it runs on, keep it backed up and work with your software provider on anything that needs their help.
Can you look after the computers on the factory floor?
Yes. Shop-floor computers are monitored, updated and managed the same way as the office, and each staff member gets their own secured account instead of a shared login.
Do you come on site?
Yes. We visit sites around Penrith, Parramatta, Norwest and the Hills District when a problem cannot be fixed remotely. Most day-to-day problems are fixed by phone or remote session, which is usually quicker.
Can you schedule updates around production?
Yes. Updates and larger changes are scheduled outside production hours where possible, and we let you know before anything is done that could affect your team.
What happens if our server fails?
Your server, shared files and business systems are backed up offsite, and restores are tested. We help you get running again, and we can put a written disaster recovery plan in place so everyone knows what happens next.
Can you support more than one site or warehouse?
Yes. We look after multiple sites under the one agreement, including the network and Wi-Fi at each one, so every location is set up and managed the same way.
What happens to a staff member's email and files when they leave?
We remove their access on the day they leave and keep their mailbox and files with your business, so customer orders and correspondence are not lost.
How quickly do you respond when something goes wrong?
Response times are set out in your agreement. We respond to critical problems within 1 hour, high priority problems within 2 hours, medium within 4 hours and low within 8 hours, during business hours of 8:30am to 5pm, Monday to Friday.
