Some of the businesses we work with

Email Security
Most scams aimed at small businesses start with an email
A fake login page steals a password, a fake invoice asks for payment, or a scammer sends emails that look like they came from your business. In 2024-25, email compromise was the cybercrime businesses most often reported to the Australian Signals Directorate.
Email security works in layers. Filtering stops most bad emails before they arrive, multi-factor authentication means a stolen password is not enough on its own, DMARC stops scammers sending as your domain, and training helps your team spot what still gets through.
Email security is worth a look if
- Your emails are landing in clients' spam folders
- Someone has sent emails pretending to be your business
- Staff are receiving more phishing emails than usual
- You do not know whether your domain has a DMARC record
- A mailbox in your business has been taken over before
- Your insurer has asked about your email security
Your clients should be able to trust that an email from your business really came from you.
SPF, DKIM and DMARC
What SPF, DKIM and DMARC do
These three records sit in your domain’s DNS settings. Together they let other email servers check that an email claiming to be from your business is genuine.
SPF
A list of the services allowed to send email for your domain, such as Microsoft 365 and the accounting or marketing software you send invoices and newsletters from.
DKIM
A digital signature added to every email you send, so the receiving server can check it really came from your domain and was not changed on the way.
DMARC
A rule that tells other email servers what to do with emails that fail those checks, from letting them through to rejecting them, and sends you reports on who is sending as your domain.
What We Do
Our email security services
Some businesses need everything set up from scratch, and some need one problem fixed. These are the parts of email security we look after.
Email filtering
Incoming email is checked for phishing, malicious links and harmful attachments, so fewer dangerous emails reach your team’s inboxes.
SPF, DKIM and DMARC setup
We find every service that sends email for your domain, set up the records properly and move DMARC to a policy that blocks fake emails in planned stages.
Mailbox security
Multi-factor authentication and sign-in rules on every mailbox, so a stolen password alone is not enough to get in.
Email delivery fixes
When your emails land in spam, we check your records and the services sending email for you to find the cause and fix it.
Phishing training
Practical training and phishing simulations show your team what a suspicious email looks like and what to do when one arrives.
Help after a scam email
If someone clicks a link or a mailbox is taken over, we secure the account, check for changes such as forwarding rules and help you work out what to do next.

This is their second company we are using and extremely professional. Helped me setup our microsoft outlook (absolute nightmare when we were trying to do it ourselves) but they saved the day. They gave me an upfront number which I love vs guessing how much it'll be right at the endPosted on Google![]()

Questions
Email security and DMARC: common questions
What is DMARC?
DMARC is a record in your domain’s DNS settings. It tells other email servers what to do with emails claiming to be from your business that fail SPF and DKIM checks, whether that is letting them through, sending them to spam or rejecting them, and it sends you reports on who is sending email as your domain.
Does a small business need DMARC?
Google, Yahoo and Microsoft now require businesses that send large volumes of email to their users to have SPF, DKIM and DMARC in place, and emails without them are more likely to be rejected or sent to spam. Even if you send less, DMARC is what stops scammers sending emails that look like they came from your domain.
Why are our emails going to spam?
Often it is because SPF, DKIM or DMARC are missing or set up incorrectly, or because a service that sends email for you, such as your accounting or marketing software, is not included in your records. We check each of these and fix the cause.
Will DMARC stop our own emails from being delivered?
Not when it is done in stages. We start DMARC on monitoring, use the reports to find every service that sends email for you, fix those, and only then move to a policy that sends fake emails to spam or rejects them.
Someone is sending emails pretending to be us. What should we do?
Let your clients and suppliers know, and do not reply to the fake emails. Then call us. We check whether the emails came from your real mailbox, your domain or a lookalike domain, secure any affected account and set up DMARC so fakes using your domain are blocked. DMARC cannot stop lookalike domains, so we also show your team how to spot them.
Can you help if an email account has already been hacked?
Yes. We secure the account by resetting the password and signing out every session, turn on multi-factor authentication, check for forwarding rules and other changes the attacker may have made, and help you work out who needs to be told.
How much does email security cost?
It depends on how many mailboxes you have, how many services send email for your domain and what is already in place. We check your setup first and agree a price with you before any work starts.
